Seasons Change

Psalm 30:5 (TLB)

His anger lasts a moment; his favor lasts for life! Weeping may go on all night, but in the morning there is joy.

I was enjoying an evening with my wife while I had control of the TV remote. We noticed one of the competitors in the 2016 Summer Olympics who struggled through her heats to advance to the semi-finals. The commentator revealed this competitor was sick on the prior day but she was determined to run and make an attempt to advance to the next round.

The contestant started out well but her pace was noticeably slower as the race went on. Unfortunately she placed near the end of her race but she crossed the finish line. Something unexpected happened as she was interviewed by the commentator. She indicated she did not feel her best, was glad to gain Olympic experience but most importantly, she said her season was over but not her career.

So it is for us who go through difficult seasons and experience extremely hard things. What we go through is a specific period of time but our story does not end. We may have lost somethings or situations did not go as we planned but make a decision to come out better and with a testimony.

What may have seemed like the end is just the beginning of something else. I believe different seasons allow us to learn about ourselves and God and how He can restore our souls.

We must hold on to the fact that our seasons and conditions are temporary but just as it is in the natural, it is also in the spiritual realm. Our times will change if we hold on until the end. We must also remember our times are in His hands. (Ps. 31:15)
